1. Who We Are
TRYLZ is a product of The Soccer Group Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy, which means we decide how and why it is used. For any privacy question or request, contact us at hello@trylz.com.
2. What Data We Collect
We collect information you give us directly, including:
- Account details: your name, email address and login information
- Contact details you choose to give us, such as a WhatsApp number
- Player profile data: age, nationality, passport or eligibility countries, current country, position, height, weight, current and previous clubs, playing level, training habits, goals and budget
- Video and image files you upload, and links to footage you share, which may show you and other people who appear in the footage
- Text you write in the Platform, including your interview answers, profile description and messages to our AI agents
- Subscription and payment information, processed securely by our payment provider. We do not store your card details
- Where you are under 18, contact details for a parent or guardian and evidence of their consent
- Correspondence with us, including support and complaint emails
We also collect limited technical and usage data automatically, such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visit and how you use the Platform.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use your information to:
- Create and run your account and player profile (contract)
- Review your footage and profile, provide assessments, and verify your profile (contract and our legitimate interest in running the service)
- Match you to relevant trials, academies and other opportunities (contract)
- Generate coaching plans, recommendations and other AI content for you (contract)
- Share your profile and footage with clubs, academies, scouts or organisers where you have asked about an opportunity or where you have given permission (consent, or contract where you asked for the opportunity)
- Send you service messages, opportunity alerts and journey updates (contract, or consent for marketing)
- Process payments and manage subscriptions (contract)
- Keep the Platform safe, prevent misuse and fraud, and enforce our Terms (legitimate interests)
- Understand how the Platform is used and improve it (legitimate interests)
- Meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations (legal obligation)
Where we rely on legitimate interests, we balance them against your rights and expectations. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
4. Who We Share It With
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only as needed, with:
- Service providers who process data for us under contract, including hosting and storage, payment processing, email and notifications, analytics, and the AI providers that power our agents
- Clubs, academies, scouts or event organisers, where you have asked about an opportunity or given us permission. For anyone under 18, we will only share beyond what is needed to assess them with a parent or guardian's consent
- Other people, if you switch on public visibility for your profile or share it yourself
- Our professional advisers, regulators, law enforcement or courts, where we are required or permitted to share
- A buyer or successor, if our business or assets are sold or transferred
5. Sending Data Outside the UK and EEA
Some of our providers process data outside the UK and the EEA, including in the United States. Where that happens, we use appropriate safeguards, such as an adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses, and we require providers to protect your data to a comparable standard.
6. How Long We Keep It
We keep personal data for as long as your account is active and for as long afterwards as we need it for the purpose we collected it, or as the law requires.
Football footage and your assessments are kept while your account is open and for as long as we need them to progress an opportunity you have asked about, then deleted or anonymised. Payment and invoice records are kept for the period required by tax and accounting law.
If you ask us to delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we must keep it by law or to resolve a dispute.
7. AI and Automated Processing
We use AI to review footage and profile information and to generate assessments, ratings, coaching plans and opportunity suggestions. We do not use automated processing to make decisions that produce legal effects for you or similarly affect you in a significant way. If you would like a personal review of any AI-generated assessment that affects you, email us at hello@trylz.com and we will look at it.
8. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Ask us to delete your data
- Object to, or ask us to restrict, processing
- Receive your data in a portable format
- Withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on it
To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@trylz.com. We will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to your local supervisory authority. In the UK this is the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) and in Spain it is the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (aepd.es). We would appreciate the chance to resolve your concern first.
9. Children and Players Under 18
TRYLZ is for players aged 16 and over. If you are 16 or 17, you may only use the Platform with the consent of a parent or guardian, and we may ask you to confirm that consent. We take extra care with younger players' data: we limit what we share with third parties to what is needed to assess a player, and we do not make an under-18 profile publicly visible without a parent or guardian's consent.
If a parent or guardian believes a child has given us personal data without consent, contact us and we will remove it.
10. Marketing
We send service messages and journey updates as part of the Platform, and marketing emails where you have agreed to them. You can opt out of marketing at any time using the unsubscribe link in the email or by emailing us. We will still send you essential service messages about your account.
11. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your rights, we will tell you and any relevant regulator as required by law.
12. Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies. Please see our Cookie Policy for full details and how to control them.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or on the Platform. This page always shows the date of the latest version.
14. Contact
